LEGENDS IN CONCERT - AL MARTINO: A GENTLEMAN OF MUSIC
Born Alfred Cini in 1927 Philadelphia the young Al seemed certain from an early age the direction his life would take. His idols in his younger years were the ever popular Perry Como and Al Jolson both of whom commanded a worldwide following; but his biggest incentive came when family friend Mario Lanza encouraged the young Al to join the music industry and perform. Al was soon to get his big break when in 1952 he was offered the opportunity to record 'Here In My Heart' which coincidentally was also going to be recorded by Mario Lanza until Al asked him, as a friend, not to cover the song. Mario agreed and the song catapulted Al onto the world stage by becoming a million seller in the States as well as the UK which made him the first American artist to top the singles charts in both countries. Included in this fabulous DVD is 'Here In My Heart' along with other million selling songs such as 'Spanish Eyes' and 'Volare' every one as well known today as the day they were first recorded.

LEGENDS IN CONCERT - BARRY WHITE: LARGER THEN LIFE
A huge man with an equally huge talent, Barry White was rarely out of the top twenty sellers in the late 70s delivering hit after hit produced to a formula that was uniquely his. Born in Galveston in 1945, and cutting his musical teeth singing gospel, his first experience of a recording studio was at just eleven playing piano for Jesse Belvin on "Goodnight My Love". His work as a producer brought him in contact with all girl group "Love Unlimited" and his voice appeared briefly on their debut single "Walking in the Rain". Signing to 20th Century Records in 1973 started an amazing career with the formation of the Love Unlimited Orchestra and Barry White becoming a solo artist. His soulful gravely voiced vocals combined with lush string arrangements became his trademark and anthems for lovers across the globe, rewarding Barry with hundreds of Gold, Silver and Platinum Albums.

LEGENDS IN CONCERT - BRENDA LEE: COMING ON STRONG
Our DVD release sees the sensational Brenda Lee performing such favourites as 'Coming On Strong and 'All Alone Am I' in a memorable 80s concert that clearly shows her at the very top of her professional career.
The diminutive Brenda exploded onto the music scene at the tender age of six winning a three-year contract to appear on TV programme Ozark Jubilee. It was from this platform that Brenda Mae Tarpley from Lithonia, Georgia began her journey in 1950, going on to worldwide stardom. Nicknamed 'Little Miss Dynamite', coined from her single 'Dynamite', the young Brenda Lee was on course to take the world by storm.
Her first single 'Jambalaya' in 1956 heralded a string of hits including the million seller 'I'm Sorry' in 1960 topping the charts for an incredible six months and winning a gold disc in the process. In '64 she recorded two major releases in the UK with hit supremo Mickey Most and went on in November of the same year to appear before the Queen in a Royal Command Performance, a feat she would never have dreamt possible.
Still performing today to packed audiences throughout the world this married mother of two was and still is as explosive on stage as her nickname implies.

LEGENDS IN CONCERT - DEAN MARTIN: THE MAGIC OF THE MUSIC, THE PLEASURE OF PERFORMANCE
Dean Martin, the undisputed king of 'schmooz' is presented here performing a fabulous collection of all time favourites whilst entertaining his millions of devoted fans in his hit television show, a show that was to top viewing charts for nine years. To his many devotees his style is unmistakable, his voice memorable, but in reality Dino didn't so much seek fame as fame just latched on to him. Although his stage persona was one of the cool and consummate performer, in truth he could never quite understand what all the fuss was about and took his fame with complete indifference. But the gift that was so underrated by him is recorded here for the rest of us to enjoy including arguably his biggest hit 'That's Amore' and many more spellbinding songs that are remembered long after his passing on Christmas Day 1995.

LEGENDS IN CONCERT - FRANK SINATRA: THE MAGIC OF THE MUSIC, THE PLEASURE OF PERFORMANCE
Francis Albert Sinatra was born in the month of December 1915 to Italian immigrants in the town of Hoboken. Scarcely could there be more ordinary beginnings for a man that was later to become an entertainer the world would find it difficult, if not impossible, to replace. In this DVD we present a 45 minute selection of his finest songs, written by some of the world's most influential songwriters, including such hits as 'High Hopes' and 'Old Man River' all drawn from television appearances spanning his heyday period from the 40s to the 50s. LEGENDS IN CONCERT - JAMES BROWN: LIVE AT CHASTAIN PARK
This fabulous DVD shows the great performer at the top of his career performing at Chastain Park, singing such timeless classics as Papa's Got A Brand New Bag and I Feel Good. Life, however, hasn't always been so good for the musician. James Brown, it must be said, has had a very varied life! Born in South Carolina in 1933, Brown's first step into adulthood were halted when, at the age of 16 he took part in a robbery and was arrested. He received a sentence of 8-16 years hard labour, although he served only a short period. Arguably the only good to come from his brief spell in prison was meeting local man Bobby Byrd in a baseball match which led to their performing in various clubs in Taccoa; a chance meeting that gave birth to his career.
In 1955 he joined the "Famous Flames" and attracted representatives of King Records and subsequently released Please, Please, Please that would become a top ten R&B hit. There followed many chartbound releases selling in excess of 100 million worldwide; but trouble seemed to stalk Brown as the IRS cornered him in the 70s demanding unpaid taxes of a colossal $4.5 million! Additionally he was involved in a major radio scandal and the break-up of his marriage. But to top all of these disastrous events, there was still to come the untimely death of his son, Teddy in a car accident: all this within the 70s - a truly desperate decade!
But whatever life has thrown at James Brown he has definitely earned the soubriquet of "living legend" - he is simply an unparalleled talent.

Cash passed away in 2003 just four months after his wife and fellow songwriter June Carter died. This early recording of Johnny Cash shows his raw talent and earthy appeal. LEGENDS IN CONCERT - JULIO IGLESIAS: A TIME FOR ROMANCE
Born on 23rd September 1943 in Madrid to eminent physician Julio Snr and wife Maria. It could be claimed that Julio Jnr had the best start in life; he had the best of schooling and studied law as a means to following his ambition to becoming a career diplomat. But he was also a superb athlete with a natural flair for football, and as time would tell it was the call of the stadium rather than the political arena that finally won the day. Such was his footballing potential he was eventually signed up by Real Madrid as a goalkeeper; this ambition realised he believed his future was secure until fate dealt him a cruel blow when he was involved in a car accident and partially paralysed, leaving him with a two year battle to learn to walk again.
It was whilst recuperating he became interested in music and showed yet again that he possessed a natural talent by winning at the 1968 Sony Festival in Madrid singing 'La Vida Sigure Igual'. This unexpected introduction to the world's stage was but a short step to world-wide fame.

On 12 October 1935 in Modena,Italy Luciano Pavarotti, a legend in the making, was born. The son of a baker and amateur tenor, singing was clearly in his blood, but it was football that first brought him into the limelight when he showed considerable talent playing for his local club. But soccer was to be a lasting passion rather than a direction in life, and a passion he still follows with undimmed enthusiasm. LEGENDS IN CONCERT - NEIL SEDAKA: LET THE MUSIC TAKE YOU
As a boy from Brooklyn Neil had the type of upbringing that was always going to take him into music although his mother would have preferred 'classical' rather than 'popular'. Although continuing his classical interest, at 17 Neil formed a group called 'The Tokens' and caught the attention of record producer Morty Craft, which lead to the group recording a few singles with minor success. In 1957 at the age of 18, he decided to split from the group to promote himself as a solo artist and recorded 'Snowtime' for Decca. It was his first attempt at multi-tracking but the public failed to appreciate the novelty. His big break came the following year when Connie Francis recorded Neil's composition 'Stupid Cupid' and gave him a chance to demonstrate his skills at the piano. The song was a hit and by late '58 he had been elevated to a contractual position with a leading New York publisher. Although writing was earning him cash his real ambition was to perform, and with this in mind he joined RCA Records and recorded his million seller 'Oh Carol'. Since then he has never looked back, whether writing for others or performing with that most distinctive of sounds. His career path was set from an early age although not in the direction he was later to find. For him the brightest light on the High Street was a barbers shop window. But his affair with hair was cut short and in his late teens his talent for singing surfaced when he was offered a spot in the Freddie Carlone Orchestra, touring the Midwest states. His ultimate goal now realised Perry went on to sell over 100million records worldwide over six decades, with hits such as 'Hey Good Looking' and 'Papa Loves Mambo' both performed here in front of the cameras and presented on this fabulous DVD compilation. ‘Atlantic Crossing’ is an exclusive DVD production containing a fusion of two of the biggest music talents of the 20th Century. However different their styles, both have gained the adulation of a worldwide audience through their onstage charisma and massive record sales. Their beginnings couldn’t have been more removed with Tom Jones coming from Pontypridd in Wales and Tony Bennett from Queens in New York but both had a natural instinct to perform. Tom worked in many daytime jobs before being spotted performing in a bar by Gordon Mills, who began to hone this raw and very fresh talent into the star he is today. Tony on the other hand took a more academic approach to his singing, beginning with military bands through the war years and then training at the American Theatre Wing School. Tony’s break came when performing with the amazing Pearl Bailey. He was spotted by the equally amazing Bob Hope who suggested a change of stage-name from Joe Bari to Tony Bennett and so helped pave the way to greater glories. LEGENDS IN CONCERT - WILLIE NELSON: THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC
A superb DVD with the self-effacing Willie Nelson performing an inspired selection of the best known songs of his long and continuing career. Willie was born in Abbott, Texas in 1933 into a desperately poor family, his parents abandoned him at a very early age and he was left with his grandparents, which as fate would have it was where Willie strummed his first guitar. From this faltering start the road ahead was never going to be a smooth one, but his desire to make music overrode any everyday issues such as earning enough to pay the bills or feed his family. It was this dogged dedication to his music that 1960 spurred him to drive to Nashville armed with his guitar, a clutch of overdue bills and a 19 year old Buick that was about to push its last piston. Travelling on guts and determination he arrived at his destination and the world began to benefit from his song-writing wizardry with hits recorded by Patsy Kline, Faron Young and Ray Price. But it was his voice that became his passport to fame; he was ranked 25 in an elite list of the 30 bestselling artists shifting a massive 31 million albums worldwide. Not a bad achievement for a guy with a dodgy Buick!
