DETAILED SYNOPSIS:
Between 1977 and 1980 Chic produced some of the most successful and memorable music of the disco era. Their sublime blend of soul, funk and disco took a genre not best remembered for musical innovation and longevity to new heights.

Phenomenally-successful, their biggest single, ÎLe Freakâ topped the US charts in 1978 for an amazing five weeks, selling over four million copies and becoming Atlantic Recordsâ biggest-ever single. Chicâs creative nucleus was always the writer/musician partnership of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. They subsequently both enjoyed considerable success as producers, working with such pop legends as David Bowie, Diana Ross, Mick Jagger and Madonna.

One of the duoâs first production success stories was the girl group Sister Sledge. Teaming up with Rodgers and Nile in 1979, they produced two of the best-selling anthems of the disco era, âWe Are Familyâ and ÎHeâs The Greatest Dancerâ.
